The Learning Partnership will be drawing upon resources from The Teachers’ Collection.

The Teachers’ Collection has identified some outstanding texts, demonstrating their connections to the national curriculum programmes of study, drafted some outline plans and pulled together important vocabulary for each unit.

Colleagues from The Learning Partnership will be walking through four different texts each term.

Key Stage 2 Literacy in art & design series: A History of Pictures for Children

Tuesday 23rd April 4pm -5pm

Join expert art consultant Paul Carney as he demonstrates how the book 'A History of Pictures for Children by David Hockney & Martin Gayford' can be used for the teaching of theoretical & disciplinary curriculum knowledge in key stage 2 art & design. This session will show you how texts link to wider learning and so elevate their importance in the eyes of children.

Key Stage 1 Literacy in art & design series: Follow the Line

Tuesday 14th May 4pm - 5pm

Expert art consultant Paul Carney invites you to join him in a series of practical, mindful, creative, key stage 1 drawing exercises that are linked to the beautiful book Follow the Line by Laura Ljungkvist. The session will show you how to make connections between literacy, reading, and your art & design curriculum and so enhance the learning experience.
