Overview

This online session will explain and explore current expectations and some possibilities, for the development of Drama within the English curriculum, both as a pedagogy and artform. Drama can be used effectively to support reading comprehension, and to provide meaningful contexts for both talk and writing. Pupils also need to learn about Drama and have opportunities to experience it as both participants and audience. Ways in which some schools have systematically and successfully developed Drama within English will be explained, and some practical lesson examples will be provided.
