What Teachers Say

“Functional Fluency and TIFF have been very positive for my school, enabling me and my colleagues to grow as teachers, leaders and people. It has clarified what I feel, helped me to see the bigger picture and given me things to work on but it has also helped me to have belief and certainty in my “be yourself” approach. As a result, I am going to try and stop taking things too personally and, instead, provide good structure to help colleagues solve their own problems.”

About the Programme Leader

The programme will be co-ordinated by Steve Willshaw, a teacher and leader with 35 years’ professional experience, and will involve the network of over 25 Functional Fluency Providers across the UK, many of whom also have teaching experience.

Steve is the UK Connector for Functional Fluency, the chair of the National Baccalaureate Trust and a trustee of the National Association for Advisers in English (NAAE). He is currently using Functional Fluency with a range of clients, including Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.

The Functional Fluency model is the result of the award-winning work and research of Susannah Temple, PhD. It grew out of Transactional Analysis and Ego-State Theory and helps promote emotional literacy and growth mindset. It can unlock your school’s potential and help you to embody your school’s values in everyday practice.
