Overview

This course is an introduction to using the free online software – Tinkercad – for designing 3D models in the primary classroom. We’ll get hands-on with the software to start designing and building our own 3D models and consider the principles needed for children to design models which could be printed using a 3D printer if you wished. Tinkercad is the software recommended in the NCCE Teach Computing Y6 unit ‘3D Modelling’.

Attendees can join on laptops, iPad or Chromebooks, but may prefer to use a laptop or Chromebook with a trackpad or (preferably) a mouse if they have that option. If accessing Tinkercad on an iPad, a Bluetooth mouse would be useful, such as this one from Amazon.
