Overview

AIMS:

To explore ways of ensuring that pupils have a deeper understanding of how texts fulfil their purpose at text, sentence and word level: going beyond basic ‘genre features’ by using effective models;

To explore ways of ensuring that pupils can hypothesise, explain, generalise and reason, about how texts work and evaluate how well they fulfil their purpose;

To explore ways of ensuring that pupils can use this knowledge and understanding and apply it effectively to their own writing - producing writing that fulfils its intended purpose.

This course is in 2 parts; a two hour course on the 8.6.22 and a 1 hour twilight on the 6.7.22
