Overview

John Hattie in Visible Learning identifies meta-cognition as one of the most powerful ways of accelerating achievement. Meta-cognition is also an important tool for nurturing independent learners. Good skills developed throughout school will be of enormous benefit during Sixth Form and university when so many disadvantaged learners drop out as they do not have the study skills needed to feel confident in their abilities when the learning gets tricky.

About The Course

This workshop will empower teachers to understand and promote metacognition skills in the classroom. It will cover how teachers can engage learners when approaching a task, ensure they use appropriate skills and strategies to solve problems, monitor their comprehension and evaluate their progress. You will leave with some quick wins to use the next day.

This live interactive workshop will be delivered remotely via Zoom. Numbers are limited to 20 participants.
