Overview

Starting in Autumn term 2020, augmenting our full CPD suite, the Learning Partnership has commissioned Andrew Wrenn to lead an online professional learning community focused on primary History.

Having to teach primary history for the first time? Would you like to boost your confidence by being clearly shown what the National Curriculum requires in content and concepts?

Would you like some practical ideas you can adapt regardless of content? Then this webinar is for you,aiming to equip you with an overview of curriculum requirements which should help to plug any gaps from your training

Comprising two sessions (each between 45 and 60 minutes) per term focusing on a specific area. . Session 1: engage colleagues in a lecture style webinar exploring a key issue, area, piece of knowledge, resource or strategy. Inter-session activity Session 2: discourse session, exploring the activity and further thinking. The session will also allow for sharing practice.

The first meeting will consist of a presentation from Andrew Wrenn on the NC concept of cause and consequence, with practical examples of how this can be taught effectively across KS1 and 2 and be built in to medium term plans at regular intervals. Those attending will be set a practical gap task whose outcomes and other thoughts on planning for cause and consequence can be shared on a secure shared platform with Andrew Wrenn available in support. The second meeting will be a question and answer session where attendees will have the opportunity to develop their understanding further by participating in discussion lead by Andrew.
