Overview

We are delighted to offer Thinking Moves A-Z training for primary and secondary teachers, as well as for teaching assistants who have involvement with teaching and learning. This new online course comprises 3 twilight Zoom sessions of 1.5 hours each, spread over a 6 week period - allowing participants to try out activities in lessons between the sessions and share practice in the training itself.

Our thinking ability is what makes us distinctively human. Yet we have no generally accepted approach to teaching thinking – and no common vocabulary to describe different ways of thinking. This, when you think about it, is extraordinary. Imagine trying to teach or learn maths if we did not have commonly accepted terms such as add, subtract, multiply and divide!

Thinking Moves A – Z provides a vocabulary for thinking. The moves themselves are not all new – we all use them in our learning and our life every day. But now we have a powerful way of talking about how we think, and that gives us a means to work on improving the effectiveness of our thinking.

About The Course

The three twilight training sessions will enable delegates to:

Become familiar with Thinking Moves A – Z

“Jeremy was encouraging of all delegates to participate, remain in touch with any queries they may have / share P4C experiences and he wrote to delegates after the course to share further resources”.
