Overview

Wild Literacy is all about taking children out into their natural environment to enhance their understanding of the wider world around them and developing their vocabulary and conversation skills to enable them to talk about their experiences.

The world around us offers the perfect learning environment, which inspires and encourages children to develop a love of expression and conversation. By taking children outdoors and encouraging them to engage with nature we can take sometimes complicated and confusing vocabulary into an experience which can be felt through practical and hands on activities.

About The Course

This training opportunity and accompanying resource is aimed at giving teachers the starting blocks and confidence to take their classroom outside. The resources have all been designed in a step by step approach so they can be expanded upon and used at the different stages of literacy learning. You will also receive an electronic copy so you can keep adding to your resource bank, print more copies and expand the ideas and experiences shared on the training.

The course is on the 19th March, 12.30pm-3.30pm at PECT, Ham Lane House, Ham Lane, Peterborough PE2 5UU

The training is ideal for literacy teachers, outdoor practitioners, forest school leaders and their supporting staff.

Costs - £60pp (Eco Charter Schools receive a 20% discount)
