Overview

How do you help a pupil who seems to be conversationally fluent in English but struggles to fully access and succeed in classroom tasks? This course covers effective classroom strategies for EAL pupils who can struggle with the more academic language of classroom discussions and texts. In addition, it clarifies what kind of progress we should expect as pupils with English as an additional language acquire competency in academic language skills.

About The Course

The course looks at a range of strategies to improve pupils’ attainment through the development of academic vocabulary and sentence structures across the curriculum.
