This practical course will show how formative writing can capture pupil`s growing knowledge and understanding of primary history as they progress through a sequence or enquiry.

It will consider appropriate forms of extended writing in response to enquiry questions (and forms of writing frame) which can support pupils in reaching their own independent conclusions, suppoted by available evidence.

About the Programme Leader

Andrew Wrenn is a freelance History Education consultant. He is also a Teacher Fellow and recent trustee of the Historical Association, a UK subject organisation which promotes the teaching of history cross-phrase. He is a former LA advisor for history and humanities and is an experienced teacher, trainer and writer.
