This will be an introduction to the key aims of the national curriculum for the non-specialist teacher of computing in the primary classroom. It will include recommended resources, demonstration of effective pedagogical approaches and consideration for how to facilitate adaptive practice in support of pupil needs.

John Jefferies works extensively in support of schools for computing and D&T. He works with the National Centre for Computing Education as a Subject Matter Expert and has worked nationally and internationally through Naace and Becta. He is an accredited Lead Facilitator for STEM Learning. John is a STEM Learning Enthuse Partnership Coach providing support for D&T. He holds a certificate of accreditation from EPICT as a Facilitator for Online Safety and regularly provides Online Safety guidance and training for school leaders and teachers, governors and trustees, parents and children throughout primary.
John is an expert in cross-curricular computing and digital skills, and in the application of Ed Tech. He has many years’ experience supporting trainee teachers, and in helping groups of schools to collaborate.
