Overview

Ofsted’s forthcoming subject review for art & design will have clear implications for the subject. The recent research review has already indicated what their expectations will be. This CPD session will enable you to be one step ahead; to make sense of all that complex theory and translate it into practical, common sense practice. It will enable you to review your curriculum provision; to appraise what you’re doing now and be able to make insightful decisions about the curriculum course you’re on. It will cover: What Ofsted are saying about theoretical, practical and disciplinary knowledge. What do they look like in the secondary classroom and how do we best teach them? Understanding their theories on curriculum & progression and how you can translate that to your current units of work. Applying their pedagogical and assessment advice to your everyday classroom practice.

As a curriculum expert, Paul’s vast subject knowledge and expertise will give you the reassurance to appraise your current curriculum provision and make sensible steps to ensure you are doing your very best for your pupils.
