About the Programme Leader

Andy Hawes

Learning & Teaching Adviser

Andy has worked in primary education in Peterborough for 30 years. He has a proven track record of excellent teaching and phase/subject leadership. As a learning & teaching adviser with Peterborough City Council, he provided high quality advisory support to teachers and middle leaders in a wide range of schools. Andy’s specialisms are English teaching, AfL and middle leadership development. Much of Andy's current work involves team teaching in various schools across Peterborough from Y1-Y6.

Al Carroll

Learning & Teaching Adviser

As a primary school teacher for 15 years, Al has taught a range of year groups in Lincolnshire, Peterborough and Zambia, with a particular interest and specialism in Early Years/Reception / Year 1, including Phase Leading EYFS. Al is currently teaching part time at Woodston Primary School and leading phonics. Prior to this Al has worked as an EYFS Adviser and Profile Moderation Manager for Peterborough City Council, in the early years and school improvement teams.

Suzie Julien

Learning & Teaching Adviser

Suzie has been working in education for the last 20 years. She has had various roles from class teacher to deputy headteacher. Her most recent role was working for Newborough Primary School as a teacher and deputy headteacher. Prior to this she worked for Peterborough Local Authority as a mathematics teaching and learning Adviser

She is also the chair of governors for a local primary school.
