Overview

The Cafés for All® whole school approach, now used in over 600 primary schools, is a proven, cost effective way for schools to engage all parents/carers in supporting learning, thereby improving outcomes for children by using this enabling and partnership approach. Cafés for All® sessions are designed to be run by class teachers and their class during the school day, with the timings, session length and frequency to be decided by each school. In light of Covid 19, consideration is given as to how class teachers can, in the interim, engage parents/carers remotely in supporting learning until face to face sessions can recommence. The half day training for the member of staff (ideally member of SLT) who will lead on the introduction of the Cafes for All approach, is followed by a one hour online discussion a term later to share progress and ideas.

About The Course

The half day training enables delegates to:

  • Have a secure understanding of the Cafés for All ® concept and rationale

  • Be confident to lead on introducing and implementing the Cafés for All ® approach in school

  • Be able to plan and deliver a variety of learning opportunities for families in café sessions

  • Understand how to help all parents/families support and develop a child’s learning, confidence and achievement

  • Hear how the Cafés for All ® approach has been successfully adopted by a variety of schools across the UK
